More About VINYL
VINYL (Visionary Images Next Youth Leaders) is a creative leadership and mentoring project with young people with experience of hardship. Young people from the Greater Melbourne area develop and practice creative leadership skills to create opportunities for themselves and their peers to fulfil their potential.
“Vinyl sets you on a journey you probably dreamt of but never thought would ever be possible to do in your life. How do I know this? I am currently one of the participants in the VINYL workshops….who has learnt illustrator, final cut pro, stop motion animation and leadership skills.” – Scott
About Visionary Images
Visionary Images (VI) is a not-for-profit youth arts organisation established in 1998 and dedicated to the engagement and development of young people with experience of hardship through creativity. VI utilises contemporary communication media, art, design and technology as tools for artistic intervention, exchange, accessibility and cultural determination. We aim to exhibit to the broadest possible audience to raise awareness of the issues that affect us all.
At VI, young people are encouraged to take ownership of the studio space, their artwork, the creative process and to be a part of all decision-making in the running of the studio. Through active partnerships with a range of government, community, arts, industry and business partners, VI provides its members with access to resources, support, professional expertise, innovative technology and exhibition opportunities that are otherwise out of reach.
